New high lying high spin states of neutron rich nuclei in the 208Pb region have been studied by γ-spectroscopy. The nuclei have been excited by deep inelastic collisions, namely 136Xe (5.7 MeV/u) + 208Pb and 208Pb (6.5 MeV/u) + 208Pb, The experiments were performed at the UNILAC accelerator at GSI-Darmstadt and used five EUROBALL HPGe–cluster detectors combined with the highly efficient Crystal Ball NaI–array. More than 200 nuclei have been populated. First results for selected products will be presented.
