Coupled Reaction Channel study of reactions with weakly-
bound exotic neutron-rich nuclei
— •Ivan Krouglov1 and W. von Oertzen21Freie Universitaet Berlin — 2Hahn Meitner Institut Berlin

We have studied coupled reaction channel effects(CRC) in inelastic and transfer reactions (1- and 2-neutrons) induced by 11Be and 11Li on light mass target nuclei(12C,16O) in the vicinity of the Coulomb barrier. The CRC program FRESCO has been used.Various features of the strong coupling situation(nonorthogonality effects, convergence, etc)are illustrated. It is found that the absorption cross section is generally reduced at energies below the barrier due to coupling of the positive Q-values of the transfer channels. The origin of this behaviour is discussed.
