A highly stable Michelson interferometer has been built and we can present a resolution of less than 100 fm in dynamical measurements. This setup has been used for the examination of the inverse electromechanical effects in ferroelectric liquid crystalline elastomers (FLCE). The temperature- and DC-dependence of the inverse effects (coupling to electric fields) and the direct effects (coupling to mechanical stress) are demonstrated. We can report inverse piezoelectric coefficients higher than those of classical piezoceramics like Bariumtitanate or PZT.
