Meson retardation in deuteron photodisintegration above π-threshold — •M. Schwamb1, H. Arenhövel1, Th. Wilbois2, and P. Wilhelm11Institut für Kernphysik, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität, D-55099 Mainz, Germany — 2Institut für Theoretische Physik, Universität Hannover, D-30167 Hannover, Germany

Photodisintegration of the deuteron above π-threshold is studied in a coupled channel approach including N Δ- and π d-channels and with consideration of complete pion retardation in potentials and exchange currents. The NN-interaction model is an improved version of the Bonn-OBEPT potential which includes self-energy contributions. The retarded pion exchange currents include also recoil contributions, and are consistent with the hadronic interaction model with respect to gauge invariance. A much improved description of total and differential cross sections as well as some polarization observables in the photon energy region between π-threshold and 400-450 MeV is achieved.
