Beam quality monitoring for the GDH experiment at ELSA — •J. Naumann — Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg

The aim of the GDH experiment is the accurate determination of integral polarized photo absorption cross sections. For this purpose it is essential to have precise information about a number of parameters related to beam quality, e.g. the tagging efficiency and the machine duty cycle.

It is demonstrated that these parameters vary significantly not only for different accelerator energies but change at various time scales.

Different ways of monitoring the paramters are discussed, as well as the impact of the accuracy of these measurements on the calculated cross sections.
