Pairing Correlations in Rotating Nuclei — •D. Almehed, S. Frauendorf, and F. Dönau — Institut für Kern- und Hadronenphysik, FZ Rossendorf, 01314 Dresden

We have used a tilted axis cranking model in combination with the random phase approximation to analyze the influence of dynamical pairing correlations in rotational bands and their effect on relative energy and angular momentum. We compare our results with experiment and results from a particle number projection calculation that means an approximate treatment of these dynamical pairing correlations. We have studied rotational band structures which show different properties connected with static and dynamical pairing correlations e.g. the collapse of static pairing with increasing number of quasiparticles. The importance of such correlation effects for describing experiments is demonstrated. We also discus the advantages and problems with the different models in the superfluid and normal state regions.
