Transfer of quantum states using finite resources — •Holger Mack, Dietmar G. Fischer, and Matthias Freyberger — Abteilung für Quantenphysik, Universität Ulm

The transfer of quantum states is an essential ingredient of many quantum communication and quantum computation applications. In this context we discuss the problem of transfering a single qubit between two parties using a noisy quantum channel and only finite resources. We compare several transfer schemes derived from well-known protocols like entanglement and qubit purification in connection with teleportation. As the result of our investigations we find that the choice of the most efficient transfer scheme is strongly depending on the quality of the quantum channel but almost independent of the number of available resources.
