Euclidean Quantum Gravity 25 years on — •Gary Gibbons — Cambridge

I will review the current status of Euclidean Quantum Gravity, particularly the light of recent developments in non-perturbative String/M Theory. I will argue that it provides a semi-classical approximation for Quantum Gravity which has shown its usefulness in three major areas: Black Holes and Thermodynamics, Quantum Cosmology and the ADS/CFT Correspondence.
