The understanding of the influence of nano-structuring on the thermodynamic properties of an epitaxially grown thin film is of crucial importance for the study of nano-thermodynamics. In this talk, we introduce a structural and thermodynamic study of well-defined 200x200x13 nm3 large Cu3Au nano-cuboids fabricated by electron beam lithographic methods. Via our partial coherence model and a sample design containing both a closed thin film and periodically arranged nano-cuboids, we are able to in-situ study their properties at the order-disorder phase transformation when using coherent x-ray diffraction. The experiments yielded a phase transformation temperature of the nano-cuboids by more than 200 K lower than in the thin film.
