Using small angle neutron scattering we investigated the conformation of star polymers with a functionality ranging from f=18 to f=64 in blends with linear polymers as high molecular solvent. To study only the entropic part of the interaction forces the star and the linear polymers were, apart from isotopic labeling, chemical identical, and made of polybutadiene. The entropic part of the interaction forces leads to a collapsed conformation of the star molecules compared to the conformation in good low molecular solvents. Depending on the molecular weight of the linear polymer different radii of gyration are observable. From the small angle neutron scattering data a binary interaction parameter ξ were extracted. Furthermore concentration and temperature effects were investigated.
