Elementary excitations in high-Tc cuprates: spin fluctuations versus phonon-induced renormalization — •Dirk Manske, Ilya Eremin, and Karl Bennemann — Institut für Theoretische Physik, Freie Univeristät Berlin, D-14195 Berlin

We analyze the energy- and momentum-dependence of the elementary excitations in high-Tc superconductors ω(k) = єk − Σ(k, ω) resulting from their coupling to spin fluctuations and to optical phonons. As a result of the self-energy Σ (k, ω) in both cases characteristic features occur in the spectral density. The analysis of the frequency and momentum dependencies of Σ (k,ω) allows to draw conclusions about the nature of the ’kink’ feature observed recently by ARPES. We present results for the spectral density A(k, ω) and for the feedback of superconductivity on the elementary excitations. These results relate also to inelastic neutron scattering and tunneling experiments and shed important light on the essential ingredients a theory of the elementary excitations in the cuprates must contain.
