Thermopower and thermal conductivity of YbRh2Si2 — •Adriana Sanchez, Christoph Geibel, Silke Paschen, Hung Tran, Octavio Trovarelli, and Frank Steglich — MPI für Chemische Physik fester Stoffe, Nöthnitzer Str. 40, D - 01187 Dresden

YbRh2Si2 is identified to be one of the few stoichiometric and the first Yb-based heavy fermion compound showing non-Fermi-liquid (NFL) effects at ambient pressure. We present thermopower S and thermal conductivity κ measurements on single crystal of YbRh2Si2 between 100 mK and room temperature. One aim of this study is to check the predictions of a model proposed by Kotliar et al., which uses the coupled two – dimensional spin – three dimensional fermion model to study the thermoelectric behavior of a heavy – fermion compounds close to an antiferromagnetic quantum critical point. The model predicts an anomalous logarithmic temperature dependence in the thermopower, which has already been observed in CeCu6−xAux.
