THz-Spectroscopy with YBa2Cu3O7-Josephson junctions and arrays — •Andre Kaestner and Meinhard Schilling — Institut für Elektrische Messtechnik und Grundlagen der Elektrotechnik, TU Braunschweig, Hans-Sommer-Strasse 66, 38106 Braunschweig, Germany

We employ Hilbert-spectroscopy with Josephson junctions from high-temperature superconductors (HTS) in the frequency range from 70 GHz to 1.2 THz. The Josephson junctions with integrated wideband antennas from HTS are prepared on symmetric 24o LaAlO3 bicrystal substrates. We obtain for a 6 µm wide junction an ICRN-product of 170 µV at 77 K and 2.0 mV at T = 10 K. The set-up is optimized for low insertion loss over a wide frequency range from 70 GHz to 2 THz. For HF-characterization we use high-frequency sources at 20 GHz, 76 GHz and a far-infrared laser at 762 GHz and further lines in the THz-regime. Also measurements of Josephson junction arrays under high-frequency irradiation are presented. Therefore we prepared 1D- as well as 2D-Josephson junction arrays with grain-boundary and ramp-type Josephson junctions.
