Reconstruction of TEXTOR iron-core MHD-equlibria — •Torsten Haberscheidt, Derek Harting, and Detlev Reiter — Institut für Plasmaphysik, Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH, EURATOM Association, Trilateral Euregio Cluster, 52425 Jülich, Germany

2D stationary MHD equilibria for the TEXTOR iron core tokamak are computed with the DIVA code. For our particular application a construction of a virtual coil configuration, the so called No-dqconductor coil basketNo-dq(CCB), specific for each set of DIVA input parameters, has permitted the calculation of realistic equilibria in the (inner) plasma region of TEXTOR, by separating the iron core influence from the internal plasma MHD parameters. The adaptive CCB and the properties of the equilibrium solutions will be discussed. The method of function parametrisation, which provides an inverse mapping from (simulated) experimental measurements onto the plasma equilibrium without any iterative scheme, is applied here to TEXTOR for the first time. We show that within this set of data some major physical parameters can indeed be recovered by this fast procedure, such as βpol ∈ [0.3,1.5] with an error bar of σ =0.15, the magnetic axis Ra [m] ∈ [1.78,1.85] with σ= 0.006 or the plasma current Ip [MA] ∈ [0.25,0.5] with σ =0.003. However, the assessment of the effects of adaptive CCB concept on the Mirnov coil signals requires further investigation.
