Observation of VHE γ emission from SN1006 — •Vincenzo Vitale — Max Planck Institute for Physics, Föhringer Ring 6, München
The HEGRA collaboration has observed the shell type Supernova Remnant 1006 for 220h during 1999, 2000 and 2001, searching for VHE γ emission.
The observation poses new challenges as SN1006 can be seen only around 70deg zenith angle. A small excess is observed at the North Est rim position.
Results and problems of large zenith angle observation are discussed.
