Ultra stable optical resonators: Development of a novel cryogenic system — •Piergiorgio Antonini, Maxim Okhapkin, and Stephan Schiller — Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf,
Universitätstrasse 1.25.42, 40225 Düsseldorf, Germany
Cryogenic Optical Resonators (COREs) have already proved to be an efficient tool for tests of the Theory of Special Relativity. We are currently setting up a new cryogenic system. It employs a mechanical cooler of the pulse-tube type, that can be easily operated continuosly over extended periods of time with low operating costs. A description of the experimental set up, as well as the preliminary results will be presented.
