We systematically investigated group(II) metal water cluster anions [M(II),nH2O]−, n<25, by means of high level ab initio methods. We report relative stabilities of different isomers M(II),nH2O]− and predict minimum number of water molecules required to stabilize the cluster anions. The electronic structures of different [M(II),nH2O]− clusters are analyzed in detail.
