A 101.28 MHz IH-RFQ for MAFF — •O. Kester1, M. Pasini1, T. Sieber1, D. Habs1, and A. Schempp21Sektion Physik der LMU München, Am Coulombwall 1, D-85748 Garching — 2Institut für Angewandte Physik, Uni Frankfurt, Robert-Mayer-Str. 2-4, D-60325 Frankfurt

For the LINAC of the Munich accelerator for fission fragments (MAFF) an IH-RFQ resonator is under construction. This resonator will operate at 101.28 MHz resonance frequency, which is the upper frequency limit for those strucures and with a maximum duty cycle of 10%. The MAFF IH-RFQ will accelerate ions with A/q <6.5 from 2.5 keV/u injection energy to about 300 keV/u. A design study of the cavity done with MAFIA has shown a high shunt impedance, no cooling requirements for the quadrupole structure and a low electric dipole moment which could influence the beam quality. The design studies with MAFIA and PARMTEQ and the status of the model and the power resonator will be presented.
