Commissioning of a Natrium-Sodium-Detector for the A4 Compton backscattering polarimeter — •Mario Sikora — Institut für Kernphysik — Universität Mainz, D-55099 Mainz

The A4 collaboration in the institute of nuclear physics in Mainz determines contributions of strange quarks to the form factors of the nucleon. The experimental setup includes a comtpon-polarimeter which is used to measure the polarisation of the incident electron beam. Backscattered photons of the compton-polarimeter deposit their energy in natrium-sodium crystals. The crystals are read out by photomultipliers and an appropriate data acquisition.

This talk will present results from the calibration with different radioactive sources and cosmic rays and will present results for the expected behaviour estimated by simulation.
