The state-of-the-art readout electronics for existing Time-Projection-Chambers (TPC) is based on the consuming large amount of electrical power and quite expensive Flash-ADCs. We study an alternative solution with a Time-to-Digital Converter (TDC) and charge-to-time conversion technique. The possibility to apply this technique using the ASDQ integrated circuit and commercial TDC was studied.

The readout electronics based on the TDCs as a compact and not expensive solution may provide reduced data rate and natural data representation format. This readout architecture, for example, would allow to use a larger number of readout channels, hence would improve the momentum resolution of the TPC.
