First studies of a multiplexed GSamples FADC prototype for future Air Cherenkov Telescopes — •Hendrik Bartko, Florian Goebel, Razmick Mizoyan, and Wendelin Pimpl — Max-Planck-Institut für Physik München

New generation Air Cherenkov Telescopes use a fast digitization in order to reduce the effect of the night sky background. In addition precise measurements of arrival time and pulse form can help to separate hadron and gamma induced showers. GSamples flash ADCs are commercially available but are very expensive and power consuming. A new approach uses one GSamples FADC to digitize many channels consecutively. Therefore the analog signals are delayed using optical fibers. A trigger signal is generated using a fraction of the light which is branched off using a light splitter before the delay fiber. First results obtained with a 16 channel multiplexed 2 GSamples FADC prototype will be presented.
