A Photon Collider at TESLA — •Jadranka Sekaric, Guido Klemz, Klaus Mönig, and Achim Stahl — DESY Zeuthen

As an additional option for the linear collider, a Photon collider gives the possibility to study interactions at energies and luminosities comparable to those in e+e collisions, with a second interaction point devoted to eγ and γγ collisions. Brought into collision with each other, photon beams can produce diverse elementary particles and give insight into New Physics phenomena. Modern laser technology gives us a possibility to provide high energy photons by Compton backscattering. Technical aspects, laser requirements and new ideas on laser optics in the conversion region are discussed in order to optimise the geometry of the laser system. Background in the detector as a consequence of the beam-beam interaction is covered by this study as well.
