The intereaction of gasous N2 on the FeS2 (100) surface at room temperature was studied using scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) to characterise its structural properties. Furthermore, the electronic structure of the FeS2 (100) clean substrate and during N2 deposition has been investigated by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) to determine the reactivity of the iron dangling bonds to N2 exposure at various concentrations up to 1000 Langmuir.
