Optical parametric oscillation (OPO) and amplification (OPA) belong to the most successful concepts of squeezed light generation. We present the optical design of our squeezed light sources. A nonlinear crystal (Magnesium-oxide-doped Lithium Niobate) is placed inside a cavity of controllable length which is resonant for the fundamental laser wave length at 1064nm. The crystal is pumped with second harmonic light generated in an external nonlinear cavity. We investigate schemes of OPO/OPA length control, characterize dominant sources of loss and present measurement results with optimized degree of squeezing for different frequency regimes of interest.
