New crystals for Raman frequency conversion into the visible and near-IR regions — •Hans Joachim Eichler1, Gad Gad2, Hanjo Rhee1 und Alexander Kaminskii31Institute of Optics, Berlin University of Technology, D-10623 Berlin, Germany — 2Physics Department, Faculty of Sciences, Helwan University, Ain Helwan, Cairo, Egypt — 3Institute of Crystallography, Russian Academy of Science, Leninsky prospect 59, 119333 Moscow, Russia

Stimulated Raman scattering SRS has been investigated with a mode-locked Nd:YAG laser with 110 ps single pulse width at 1064 nm wavelength. Efficient multiple Stokes and anti-Stokes single pass generation in 56 crystals produces about 1083 lines covering the whole visible and near-infrared spectrum from 403 to 1369 nm. All SRS wavelengths in the visible and near-infrared spectrum are attributed to Raman-active vibration modes of these crystals. BiB3O6 , Bi4Ge3O12 , Bi4Si3O12 , AANP, C13H10O , GuZN-III and 4‘-Nitrobenzylidene-3-Acetamino-4-Methoxyaniline crystals combine SRS and second harmonic generation in the same crystal and allow to efficiently shift the Nd:YAG laser emission to discrete lines in the visible.
