The Fluorescence Detector of the Auger Observatory: Trigger efficiency and Real Event Topologies * — •Lorenzo Perrone, Karl-Heinz Becker, Axel Ewers, Heiko Geenen, Karl-Heinz Kampert, Simon Robbins, Viviana Scherini, Oana Tascau, and Christopher Wiebusch — BU Wuppertal, Gaussstrasse 20, D-42119 Wuppertal

The performance of the Auger Fluorescence telescope is discussed on the basis of a mass production chain. In order to get a realistic estimate of the detector resolution, a large number of simulated showers have been used for this study. The propagation through the atmosphere and the detector response are taken into account and simulated in detail. The detector trigger efficiency is calculated for different reconstruction levels. Finally, a schematic overview of the expected event topologies is given together with the displays of a real events recently collected.
