Light scattering on an N-component Bose-Einstein condensate in an optical lattice — •Oleksandr Fialko, Christopher Moseley, and Klaus Ziegler — Universität Augsburg, Universitätsstr. 1,D-86135 Augsburg, Germany

We consider an N-component system of strongly interacting bosons in an optical lattice. On each lattice site a boson can occupy one of N different states. Tunneling is possible between neighboring lattice sites and different states. For this model we calculate the static structure factor and the density-density correlation function, both for zero and finite temperatures,in the limit N →∞ and in a 1/N expansion to study the properties of the BEC and the Mott-insulating phase.
