Online Monitoring of the ATLAS Pixel System — •Adam Roe, Jörn Grosse-Knetter, Anna Henrichs, Arnulf Quadt, and Elizaveta Shabalina — II. Physikalisches Institut, Georg-August-Universität Göttingen

The ATLAS Pixel subdetector is monitored at several stages of data taking. One crucial stage is the online monitoring of events using the ATLAS reconstruction software. This stage of monitoring is presented here. Having reconstruction means that the kinematics of tracks can be monitored in real-time and timing can be seen in detail. Should problems arise, the readout chain can be tested using dedicated test injections into the analog and digital parts of the readout chain. This is especially useful during the commissioning phase of the detector. The results of these tests can be automatically analyzed to spot and identify different types of software and hardware problems on the pixel modules. Status of both monitoring and the ATLAS Pixel subdetector itself are presented here.
