Characterisation of PMTs for the KM3NeT Neutrino Telescope Project — •Oleg Kalekin and Jonas Reubelt — ECAP, Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Erwin-Rommel-Strasse 1, 91058 Erlangen

KM3NeT is a future multi-cubic-kilometre neutrino telescope in the Mediterranean Sea. To select photomultipliers (PMTs) of different types and from different manufactures, detailed characterization of candidate PMTs have been performed. Special attention is paid to parameters not specified in detail by manufacturers, such as collection efficiency and afterpulsing. These parameters have been measured in pulse-mode operation at the test bench of the Erlangen Centre for Astroparticle Physics. The results are presented.

Supported through the EU, FP6 Contract no. 011937 and FP7 grant agreement no. 212252.
