Search for supersymmetry with jets, missing transverse momentum, and two or more taus with the ATLAS detectorPhilip Bechtle1, Klaus Desch1, Dörthe Kennedy2, Till Nattermann1, •Steffen Schaepe1, and Peter Wienemann11Physikalisches Institut, Universität Bonn — 2DESY, Hamburg

In many SUSY breaking scenarios, staus play an important role either due to their mass or their couplings to other SUSY and Standard Model particles. Moreover only very few Standard Model processes can produce final states containing multiple taus and large missing energy.

In this talk status and perspectives of the search for SUSY with two tau final states with the ATLAS detector will be presented.

A search for di-tau events with large missing transverse momentum and jets has been performed using 2.05  fb−1 of proton-proton collision data at √s = 7  TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector. No excess of events was observed above the Standard Model prediction and 95 % Confidence Level upper limits are set on the production cross section for new physics in the context of a minimal model of gauge-mediated SUSY breaking (GMSB). These limits provide the most stringent tests of these models to date.

This search targeted at strong production and was hence employing a trigger on high pT jets and large missing transverse energy. The extension of this search to other SUSY breaking mechanisms employing other triggers will be discussed and an update on the GMSB search will be given.
