Carrier-Envelope-Phase Effects on High Harmonic Spectra and Photoelectron Spectra of Neon — •Christian Sander, Fabian Merschjohann, Sergej Neb, Peter Bartz, Christian Strüber, Matthias Hensen, Norbert Müller, Walter Pfeiffer, and Ulrich Heinzmann — Universität Bielefeld, Universitätsstr. 25, 33615 Bielefeld, Germany

For some time it has become feasible to generate attosecond XUV pulses for use in photoionization and streaking experiments. Using a hollow core fiber for spectral broadening we produce sub-6 fs phase-stabilized laser pulses. The high harmonics generated from these pulses in a neon-filled nickel tube are spectrally filtered and focussed by a multilayer mirror. We have studied the dependance of high harmonic spectra on the carrier-envelope-phase (CEP). The harmonics within a large part of the spectrum are shifted and a continuum region develops in the cutoff for cosine-pulses. This effect depends on the pulse duration, the neon gas pressure and the position of the nickel tube relative to the focus. Special attention needs to be paid to the coupling of the beam into the hollow core fiber and the resulting beam profile. The spectra of the photoelectrons generated in a neon gas target by the XUV light show similar behaviour. Energy offsets induced by the IR light, i.e. attosecond streaking effects, are observed.
