The International Conference of Physics Students (ICPS) 2014 in Germany — •Matthias Zimmermann1, Anna Bakenecker2, Andreas Weiden2, Philipp Pigard2, and Peter Micke31Ulm University, Germany — 2Heidelberg University, Germany — 3Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany

The ICPS is an annual conference and the main event of the International Association of Physics Students (IAPS). From year to year organized in a different country, it will take place in Heidelberg (Germany) in 2014. The intention of the conference is to give physics students from all over the world the opportunity to come together, to talk about science, studying and academic life, to practice presenting their research and, all in all, to have an exciting time.

We expect about 400 physics students from over 35 countries and interesting lectures given by Nobel laureates and other eminent physicists. The participants will visit laboratories of the university and further research facilities in the vicinity of Heidelberg. Furthermore they will have inspiring conversations, establish contacts to other physics students from all around the world and they will learn more about the different cultures that come together here. The one week of the conference has also its fair share of scientific, social and touristic program. About 25 members of the Young German Physical Society (jDPG) are organizing this amazing event for you!
