B(E2) measurement for neutron deficient 104Sn. — •Giulia Guastalla1,2, Douglas Di Julio3, Magdalena Górska2, Joakim Cederkäll3, Norbert Pietralla1, Jürgen Gerl2, and Hans Jürgen Wollersheim21Institut für Kernphysik, Technische Universität Darmstadt, Darmstadt, Germany — 2GSI, Darmstadt, Germany — 3Lund University, Lund, Sweden

The reduced transition probability B(E2: 0+ → 2+) = 0.10(4) e2b2 has been measured for 104Sn using the relativistic Coulomb excitation technique with the PreSPEC setup at GSI. 104Sn is the closest isotope to 100Sn, the heaviest self-conjugate doubly magic nucleus, for which information on the E2 excitation strength is available now. Our result is therefore important for the conclusion on cross-shell excitations near 100Sn. It agrees with theoretical calculations that themselves are in conflict with data on 106,108Sn[1]. The data and their consequences are discussed. Supported by the BMBF under Nos. 05P09RDFN4, 05P12RDFN8, and by the LOEWE center HIC for FAIR.
