A study of noise performance and system stability of the readout system for silicon strip modules for the ATLAS upgrade — •Tai-Hua Lin — Uni-Mainz, Germany

For the planned upgrade of the LHC and the ATLAS detector, newly constructed silicon strip modules for the silicon strip detector are tested using the readout system (High Speed Input/Output, HSIO) and data acquisition software (SCTupDAQ). The noise performance of the readout chain depends on a multitude of factors including connected or external devices (power supplies, computers, but also florescent lights, air conditioners, vacuum pumps, etc.), injected charges, etc. A study of the noise performance will be presented in this talk.
