Charge collection measurements of irradiated silicon strip sensors using the Alibava setup — •Ole Brandt, Joachim Erfle, Eckhart Fretwurst, Erika Garutti, Sergej Schuwalov, and Georg Steinbrück — University of Hamburg

The Alibava setup is a readout system for silicon strip detectors based on the LHCb Beetle readout chip. It can be operated with a laser or a beta-source for charge carrier creation. Here the setup is used to investigate the radiation hardness of different silicon strip sensors. For the Phase 2 tracker upgrade at the LHC the degredation of the charge collection efficiency in irradiated silicon detectors is an important issue and is therefore investigated. As preparatory work the main parameters of the Beetle readout chip were modified to improve the signal to noise ratio and its pulse shape.
The charge collection of a set of strip sensors of different silicon types irradiated with 23   GeV protons to a fluence of 1.5 · 1015 neq/cm2 is studied and compared to non-irradiated sensors.
