Search for neutrino emission from gamma-ray selected Blazar populations with IceCube — •Thorsten Glüsenkamp and Markus Ackermann — DESY, Zeuthen, Deutschland

The new Fermi catalogue contains more than one thousand Blazars and it has been shown that most of the gamma emission from the Blazar class between 10 MeV and 100 GeV has already been resolved in point sources. Additionally, the Fermi collaboration has recently published very detailed source count distributions of their blazar sample.

This talk focuses on a stacking analysis approach of the Blazar sample (and sub samples) from the new Fermi catalogue using as input only statistical knowledge of the population as a whole, such as the source count distribution, in contrast to individual source weighting based on a-priori knowledge of certain sources. The sensitivity of such an approach will be discussed.
