Simulation Study of the Muon Content in Air Showers — •Mona Erfani, Markus Risse, and Mariangela Settimo — University of Siegen

The muon content in air showers is of large current interest. It contains important information both on the type of the primary cosmic ray particle and on high-energy particle interactions. Experimental efforts are underway to better measure shower muons. In this study, CORSIKA simulations are performed for different primary particles and energies, and various features of the muons reaching ground are studied.
