Magnetic Optics of the Femto-Science-Factory Multi-Turn ERL Project — •Terry Atkinson — Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin

The heavy demands on the beam quality for future light sources: diffraction limited emittance, femto-second pulses and low energy spread require advanced magnetic optic designs. This talk highlights the magnetic optic that is presently being investigated in the ERL-simulation group at HZB. Start-to-End beam dynamic simulations are presented. The effect from higher order chromatic aberration terms have been minimized using multipole magnets and biased off-crest acceleration. Optic based on horizontal phase advance manipulation to suppress emittance growth due to coherent synchrotron radiation has been investigated.
