Some ordered double perovskites (DP) with the general formula A2BB′O6 exhibit halfmetallic-ferrimagnetic behavior with high Curie temperature TC > 400 K and 100% spin polarization [1]. Therefore these DP are interesting for room-temperature applications. High B-site ordering is a prerequisite for full saturation magnetization and high TC. As a proof of concept we show that it is possible to grow highly ordered La2CoMnO6 thin films on SrTiO3 (111) by metalorganic aerosol deposition [2], a chemical deposition technique in ambient atmosphere. B-site ordering is confirmed by XRD, TEM-EELS and Raman spectroscopy. The saturation magnetization of Msat=6 µ B/f.u. and Curie point of TC= 230 K agree with the values of highly ordered bulk samples. Financial support from EU FP 7, IFOX (interfacing oxides) project is acknowledged.
