The Kondo lattice system CeSb2 crystallises in the orthorhombic SmSb2 structure and exhibits a series of magnetic phase transitions at low temperature. It has been reported to become ferromagnetic below 15 K, with the ordered moment oriented within the basal plane, and to undergo two further transitions at 9K and 12K [1]. These transition are suppressed above a hydrostatic pressure pc ≃ 16  kbar. We present high pressure transport and x-ray diffraction results, which examine the high pressure state of CeSb2. Our findings suggest that CeSb2 undergoes a drastic structural change at pc into a new and now fully resolved crystal structure. Whereas in the low pressure structure, CeSb2 is a local moment magnet, in the high pressure structure it exhibits transport properties characteristic of a heavy fermion material with a low Kondo temperature scale of the order of 10 K.
