Search for higher mass states of BXuℓν with the Belle detector — •Cesar Beleno and Ariane Frey for the Belle collaboration — II. Physikalisches Institut, Goettingen, Germany

Semileptonic decays of B mesons are the most suitable way to measure the magnitude of CKM matrix elements such as |Vub| and |Vcb|. One technique for extracting these quantities is using an exclusive analysis in which a particular channel is reconstructed. In particular, for the study of Vub just about 25% of the exclusive decay channels for charmless semileptonic decays have been measured. Currently, the most precise measurement of Vub is coming from the exclusive channel B→πℓν. However, the dominant systematic errors for this measurement stem from uncertainties in the knowledge of branching fractions and form factors of other charmless semileptonic decays. In this analysis we perform a spectroscopy study of semileptonic decays with the final state meson decaying into two hadrons, π or K. We implement a boosted decision tree method to reduce the contributions of background using the complete data set collected by the Belle detector.
