Jet energy resolution measurement at CMS — •Marek Niedziela, Kristin Goebel, Hartmut Stadie, Teresa Lenz, Christian Sander, Jochen Ott, and Roman Kogler — Institute of Experimental Physics, Luruper Chaussee 149, D-22761 Hamburg, Germany

At the LHC the collision of coloured particles are usually producing many jets in the final states. Precise measurements and searches for deviations from predictions of the Standard Model require a precise understanding of these objects. In particular the jet energy resolution is of great importance, and it has to be measured for jets as a function of their kinematic properties, e. g. the transverse momentum pT and the pseudo rapidity η. At 7 and 8 TeV methods for the measurements of jet resolutions have been carried out, either using the transverse momentum balance of γ+jet or di-jet events. Predictions of the performance of the di-jet balance method at the increased centre of mass energy and the expected pile-up conditions in the next data taking period will be presented.
