Target of Opportunity observations with the H.E.S.S. experiment — •Clemens Hoischen — University of Potsdam — H.E.S.S. Collaboration

The H.E.S.S. experiment, located in the Khomas Highlands of Namibia, received a fifth telescope in 2012. With its large mirror area with a diameter of 28 meters and its rapid repointing capabilities, it is ideally suited for follow-up observations of short-lived transient phenomena. The talk will give an overview over the target of opportunity science program of the H.E.S.S. experiment and discuss the technical requirements for a successful follow-up observation.
