We present the theoretical analysis and experimental study of a quantum simulation system of the Bose-Hubbard Hamiltonian in the driven dissipative regime in the realm of circuit QED. The system consists of series-connected, capacitively coupled superconducting resonators which are both nonlinear and tunable. The nonlinearity is achieved by galvanically coupled SQUIDs. They are placed in the current anti-node of each resonator and can be tuned by external coils and on-chip antennas.
