Detector Upgrades for a Time-of-Flight Spectrometer for Fragmentation Reactions in Ion Therapy — •Max Emde, Dominik Dorsel, Ronja Hetzel, Sebastian Lauber, and Achim Stahl — III. Physikalisches Institut B, RWTH Aachen University, Aachen, Germany

In ion therapy, fragmentation reactions contribute to the dose distribution in the patient’s body. For cross-section measurements, we use a spectrometer to determine the time of flight, energy loss and kinetic energy of the fragments produced in reactions of protons and carbon ions. In this talk, upgrades of the main detectors will be shown. Fast plastic scintillator bars are used for a new tracker to improve time and energy-loss resolution and to match the geometric acceptance of the newly built calorimeter.
