Using stabilizer symmetries to compute resource monotones — •Markus Heinrich and David Gross — Institut für theoretische Physik, Universität zu Köln

During the last years, several important steps have been taken towards identifying the necessary resource for quantum computing. Conceptually, a formulation in terms of a resource theory is desirable. However, the computation of the involved monotones is usually demanding. Here, we show how to use stabilizer symmetries to drastically reduce the complexity of such problems. We apply our methods to a recently proposed resource theory for the magic state model by Howard and Campbell, and give numerical results for up to 10 qubits.
