The Institute for Beam Physics and Technology (IBPT) at the Karls- ruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) operates the Karlsruhe Reaseach Accelerator (KARA) and the Ferninfrarot Linac and Test Experiment (FLUTE) which is presently under construction. An overview of these facilities and the accelerator physics research activies will be given.
