Integrated optics for trapped-ion quantum computing — •Jonathan Home — ETH Zürich, Department of Physics, Otto-Stern-Weg 1, 8093 Zürich, Switzerland

Trapped-ions are a leading technology for realising large scale quantum computing, due to the low gate error rates and the excellent understanding of the various error sources. However scaling trapped-ion quantum systems to relevant scales for error-corrected computers requires new technological approaches. I will present recent work in which we have demonstrated the use of ion traps with integrated optical waveguides to perform high-fidelity multi-qubit gates, as well as an outlook and overview towards the next generation of experiments exploring the potential of this approach.
