Coarsening in the 1D XY model with long-range interactions — •Dustin Warkotsch, Fabio Müller, and Wolfhard Janke — Institut für Theoretische Physik, Universität Leipzig, 04103 Leipzig, Germany
We investigate the phase-ordering kinetics of the 1D XY model with long-range interactions using a simplified version of the recently established fast, hierarchical Metropolis algorithm. Owing to the sparse predictions concerning the nonequilibrium dynamics of this model in one dimension, we seek to close this gap via Monte Carlo simulations with our highly efficient method. Regarding the scaling behavior of correlation function C(r,t), the structure factor S(k,t) and the characteristic length scale ℓ(t), we find consistent behavior for all studied growth exponents σ ≤ 1.
