It was South Mantsurai Rail Road Company during the japanese occupation after the War between Russia & Japan in 1898-1905. At March 19th, 1949 the Research Inst. of the Univ. of DaLian f. the Sciences was founded. The name of ’DaLian Inst.of Chemical Physics’ today appears since 1962 after many structural changes and administrative developments.There have been all possible projects and missions - raffinary, coal liquidif. development of kerosene f. aerocraft, catalyser f. satellite, Laser, Membrane, chromatogr., reaction dynamics, -kinetics, spectroscopy, surface science, biotechn.,.. in the last 47 years. The old time was hard, without any informations and financial aids, especially via the cooper. with the foreign oppertunities. The scientists and engineers played every kind of roles. Any idea was useful and possible for the success. The independ. developments make many subjects of today possessing the special Chinese characteristics. Having been honored with many national awards, they are best equipped with the modernest machines, information systems.
